Monroe

The story of “MONROE” begins back in 1917 when Charles Sumner McIntyre established a small workshop for manufacturing automobile parts near the city of Monroe, close to Detroit.

One of the first products introduced to the market was pneumatic tire pumps – an essential piece of original equipment for every car at the time. By 1927, annual production had reached 15 million units, with the main customer being Ford for its legendary Model T. Seeking to further improve ride comfort, Charles McIntyre instructed his engineers to develop a new product that would operate on a similar principle but be directly installed on the vehicle – thus, the history of shock absorbers began.

In the years that followed, the company grew into a multinational corporation and a global leader in manufacturing both original and aftermarket parts, known as MONROE. Today, the company employs 8,000 people and is an integral part of the Tenneco Automotive group. Its annual production reaches 20 million units, with an average annual turnover of 1 billion US dollars. Thanks to its exceptional quality, MONROE has become the first-choice supplier for the world's largest automobile manufacturers, with nearly 55% of its annual production dedicated to OEM supply. Due to these outstanding achievements, the company has received numerous awards from automakers such as VW, Nissan, Ford, Porsche, Volvo, and others.

MONROE is one of the leading manufacturers of shock absorbers.
